WURD was awarded a grant in October 2007 for $999,997 to implement its Water Quality Improvement Project for the Central Valley. Through this grant program, individual dairy producers apply for grant funds that will allow them to implement water quality improvement projects. Specific objectives of this grant are:
· To assist dairies in becoming certified by the California Dairy Quality Assurance Program (CDQAP). One goal of this project is to certify five additional dairies in the CDQAP.
· To assist at least ten dairies in implementing projects to improve water quality.
Cost-share grants that will assist 20 dairies in implementing water quality improvement projects were announced by Western United Resource Development on April 9, 2008. Click here for more details.
